Whether you’re mixing audio waves or modulation signals, precise control is imperative to fine-tuning your sound. Intellijel’s use of the Innofader crossfading submodule allows for near-frictionless operation, armed with moving capacitance technology that ensures accurate navigation along crossfader curves. This is made even more valuable the three available crossfading shapes: DJ cut, constant power, and linear. Whatever frequencies are in flux, the Xfade 1U hosts plenty of ways to mix and mangle.
Weave your signal
Each of its A and B inputs feature dedicated left and right channels for true stereo operation, but the module will accommodate mono use as well. Audio is outputted in true stereo as well, via dedicated left and right Mix channels. Because every input and output is DC-coupled, the Xfade 1U is equipped with dedicated CV outputs to use for unique and unusual modulation. What’s more, the module can operate in two polarity modes, easily toggled by a centrally-mounted switch. Unipolar output crossfades a range of zero to five volts, while the bipolar mode handles -5 to +5 volts. Operational modes are easily differentiated by vivid LED indicators that also provide real-time feedback on signal levels.
