Continuing a fruitful collaboration with the innovative minds at Hexinverter, Erica Synths debuts the long-awaited Mindphaser, a 30HP complex oscillator Eurorack module engineered for next-gen synthesis via new worlds of wave-manipulation possibilities. Frequency values for each VCO span the range of LFO to supersonic, with a dedicated range switch for instant access to octave-sized intervals. Its dual-oscillator architecture comprises your standard carrier-modulator design, but that’s about the only “conventional” component to Mindphaser’s structure. You can craft wildly evolving soundscapes with endless opportunities for complex, timbral manipulation through linear and exponential FM, a wave-shaping suite, and the module’s pièce de résistance: the through-zero phase modulation (TZ-PM) bus. The latter immensely expands your modulation opportunities by processing negative phase values to elicit rich harmonics with a far more reliable musicality. Sweetwater’s synthesists are thoroughly impressed with the added range of sidebands to explore and uniquely raucous yet refined character evoked through the distinct analog artefacts that result from the TZ-PM bus’s rampoid shape mode. Toss in pulse-width modulation, a hard sync for the modulator VCO, dedicated outputs for each VCO’s waveforms, and extensive CV control for virtually every parameter, and you’re sure to reach blistering new heights of synthesis.
