The 4ms Leveling EQ Amplifier’s EQ channels that same timeless design philosophy, pairing a low shelf, midrange bell, and high shelf with an additional highpass filter with a selectable frequency. Each filter is voiced with tailored frequencies and generous boost and cut ranges, keeping the focus on musical results over technical fuss. Moreover, you’ll appreciate the LEQA’s flexible routing, which allows you to place the EQ pre- or post-compression, or you can bypass it entirely. You also get a global EQ Level knob that offers everything from subtle tone shaping to dramatic sonic transformation.
Smooth optical compression
There’s something magical about the 2A-style optical compressor. Its smooth, warm musicality, bolstered by program-dependent attack and release times, flatter everything you run through it. Based on the same legendary design, the Leveling EQ Amplifier’s compressor allows you to select between Comp 3:1 and Limit 10:1 ratios, with Amount and Gain knobs for dialing in your preferred amount of gain reduction and makeup gain. Additionally, you get a Mix knob for straightforward parallel compression and a vivid Gain Reduction meter for real-time visual feedback. And, of course, you can place the ratio selector in the Bypass position if you want to take the compressor out of your signal chain entirely.
