Multitudes of Ferocious Filtering
Measuring in at 20HP, the Intellijel SVF1U Eurorack 1U module boasts a plethora of voltage-controlled, multimode filtering options to craft compelling patches or dial in subtractive sonics. As great as multimode filters are as a general tool, the SVF1U’s sound-shaping potential stems not just from its premier architecture of precise, punchy tones, but its distinct flexibility in its output simultaneity. Each of its evocative low- and highpass 2-pole filters feature a dedicated output for intricate, dual modulation. Additionally, a selectable dual-function filter and adjoining output let you freely toggle between bandpass and notch filter options. At the same time, an optional 6-decibel boost can implement further sonic excavation via the asymmetrical clipping circuit. Synthesists at Sweetwater especially laud the attenuverter-adorned CV input for FM, which is capable of audio-rate modulation and self-patching, in addition to functioning as a sine-wave VCO when the Q value is maxed out from 2Hz to 20kHz. Even more impressive, the pitch input precisely tracks across a range of more than four octaves at 1V/Oct, resulting in immensely musical modulation.
