I mostly make music with synths and went through a lot of drum machines from Roland and sample-based units from other manufacturers and they were fine, good, excellent even. But I like to manipulate the sounds of the drums in real time and wanted an approach to creating the sounds that was different from samples or the classic TR-style sounds. Enter the Nord Drum - this isn't a drum machine, it's not a drum sample playback device, it's a drum synthesizer. Every parameter is available for modulation over midi and each of the six channels can be addressed individually - this is a drum programmers dream both for performance and sound design. The front panels is dense but obvious to use - you just have to read the labels and enough of the manual to get the hang of maneuvering around the controls. Great sequencing ease, simple interface, GREAT sound and fully controllable remotely make this my favorite drum solution.

Honestly, this is a very underrated instrument
I am not sure why more people are not using this fantastic instrument.
I love the fact that this is not sample based
This is truly synthesizer Sound, pristine audio quality
You can do more than just percussion sounds
It's a great tool for sound design and if you're connected to external effects The sky is definitely not the limit for what you can do with this…
I highly recommend buying this device if you are doing electronic music especially psychedelics trance or techno.

I just wanted to leave a 5 Star Rating and say that this piece of equipment is amazing and that the build quality is solid and doesn't feel cheap. The sound it produces is deep and full. Years of looking for and trying different comparable products (Roland OctoPad, etcetera) This Nord machine stands on top in my opinion.
