Step Up Your Game with All-analog Sequencing

A perfect companion to Make Noise's 0-COAST or any other modern modular synth, the 0-CTRL is the super-tweakable controller and step sequencer you've been waiting for. It starts off with eight touch pads, each of which correspond to the 0-CTRL's eight steps. You can program each step with its own pitch, strength, and duration and trigger the results with the touch of a pad. There are even individual Gate outputs for each step, so you can use the 0-CTRL to fire off up to eight completely different synths. Add to that truly impressive clocking capabilities, and it's easy to see why we're so excited about the Make Noise 0-CTRL.

All-analog = no menus

One of the things those of us here at Sweetwater who are absolutely obsessed with Eurorack synths love is being able to step away from control panels and menus and get totally hands on with our music. For us, it just doesn't get better than Make Noise's 0-CTRL. This remarkably capable controller and step sequencer is 100% analog, so everything you need is right there at your fingertips. That's particularly impressive, considering how much you can do with it. What's more, its pressure- and touch-sensitive controls allow you to get seriously expressive on the fly.

Make Noise 0-CRTL CV/Gate Controller/Sequencer Features:

  • Fully analog and totally patchable CV/gate controller/step sequencer
  • Perfect for the 0-COAST or other Eurorack-compatible modular synths
  • 8 steps each feature time, volume, and duration settings
  • Individual triggers for each step let you perform in real time
  • Dedicated Gate outs for each step let you control multiple synths
  • Pressure and Touch Gate outputs provide even more on-the-fly control
  • Use external clocking or the fully integrated internal clock
  • 100% analog design puts all controls at your fingertips

Reviews

This is a game changer! It's even better than I was hoping for.
I had been considering getting this controller for some time. While I was certain I could make great use of it, I couldn't decide if it made sense for me given that I have an Arturia Key step pro, key step 37, korg sq-1, dfam, and a mother 32. I thought, surely that is all the sequencers I would need. Eventually though I broke down and purchased it. It has FAR exceeded my expectations! While the other controllers/ and sequencers I mentioned have their place, and I will still use them, the 0-Ctrl is really quite amazing for what it can do.

To me, the 0-ctrl is not about making traditional melodic content. Sure it can do that, but even the fact that it is un-quantized shows it is about experimentation. And I think this is what makes it so great. I think what makes modular so extremely appealing is the ability to explore, try weird things, get unique sounds. It's that element that will make me loose myself for hours in a patch. The 0-ctrl facilitates that type of exploration far better than any other sequencer/controller I currently own.

Just for fun, one thing I've been doing with it that is a blast, use all three rows to modulate various percussive sounds in Plaits. I trigger Plaits from the clock out. You can get some really wonderfully weird stuff that way. Even more though, the three independent cv signals you can get for each step, allows you to actually *play* something like Plaits, not just sequence it.

If you are at all interested in making your modular or semi-modular system make interesting and experimental sounds, this is a must have.
Music background: Played guitar and piano for 25+ years. Been a synth enthusiast the last 7.
Awesome controller!
This is my first CV controller, and I absolutely love this thing. The range of controls and options is astounding, and it is super-inviting to play. No regrets whatsoever in grabbing this controller!
Creative gold
I regret buying some gear, but not this. The 0-Ctrl is a great little piece of gear and constantly makes me happy with its flexibility. Pair this with your subharmonicon and smile.
No control is free control
Love the possibilities with this! So many combinations to try. Definitely something to tie into other Make Noise products . . . that said, looking forward to Strega 8').
Hours of mindless fun...
Just my my 0 Control today and plugged in to my Pittsburg Modular SV-1b. Not really sure what I am doing and don't really care. Sounds fantastic and a blast to fiddle with.
