Intelligent Wireless Radio Flash for Sony Alpha Shooters
The Sony HVL-F60RM2 wireless radio flash leverages the company’s latest, cutting-edge face-detection algorithms and TTL (through-the-lens) metering technology to achieve a level of intelligent communication with the camera previously unattainable in on-camera, hot-shoe flash units. Reliably delivering consistent flash performance at high continuous shooting speeds and sync at shutter speeds up to 1/400 second, the HVL-F60RM2 provides streamlined operation via the camera interface, as well as quick shift bounce and wireless radio communication for sophisticated control and flexibility. Spec’d with a high-output Guide Number (60 meters at ISO 100) and fast 1.7-second recharge times, the HVL-F60RM2 can deliver up to 200 consecutive flashes in high-speed bursts at up to 10 fps.

Seamless integration between camera and flash
While on-camera flash technology notched significant advancements in the DSLR era, the sophisticated AI technology that drives today’s high-end prosumer and professional mirrorless cameras has enabled seamless integration between the camera body and the flash unit. For example, the Sony HVL-F60RM2 derives white balance data from compatible Alpha camera bodies and automatically adjusts its output to perfectly complement the scene being captured. It also zooms its light output to optimize for the lens focal length in use, from 14mm (using its built-in wide panel) to 200mm. And finally, the HVL-F60RM2 offers convenient, comprehensive control directly from the menu screen of compatible Sony cameras.

Complete control of your multi-flash rig
The HVL-F60RM2 can function as an on-camera flash unit, a wireless radio commander, or a receiver, offering you complete control over a multi-flash rig. Mounted in the MI (multi-interface) shoe of compatible Sony cameras, the HVL-F60RM2 gives you control over your remote flash units’ settings, including power level switching from 1/1 to 1/256 in 1/3-step intervals, zoom, exposure compensation, and more. The onboard radio transmitter is fully compatible with Sony's proprietary TTL metering technology and supports high-speed sync up to 1/8,000 of a second. Running on a 2.4GHz radio transmission system, the HVL-F60RM2 can wirelessly control up to 15 flash units in up to five groups up to 98.4 feet away, with no line-of-sight requirements.
Sony: a trailblazer in digital imaging technology
Founded in 1946, Sony boasts a distinguished legacy as a trailblazer in the world of electronics. Over the decades, Sony has been responsible for many significant advancements in consumer and pro audio and video. The Tokyo-based company’s pioneering efforts in digital imaging during the 1980s and partnership with renowned German lens maker Zeiss in 1995 resulted in groundbreaking products such as the widely popular Cyber-shot camera, released in 1996. However, it was the acquisition of Minolta’s camera division in 2006 that catapulted Sony to the forefront of professional digital photography and eventually cemented its status as an industry leader in mirrorless camera technology and optical lens design. Sony’s professional camcorders and video decks have long been industry standards in broadcast production, and the company leads the image sensor market with high-resolution sensors designed for industrial, automotive, mobile, and photographic applications, including those powering its high-performance cameras. Whether you’re a photographer, videographer, or multimedia creator, Sweetwater offers a Sony capture solution to match your needs.
