Creates Lo-fi Effects Right at the Source
The Solomon PhōnFreq enables you to achieve low-fidelity, telephone-style effects right at the source — no half-baked, DIY mic configurations required. This dynamic microphone boasts a cardioid polar pattern for outstanding off-axis rejection, and a delightfully lo-fi 200Hz–4kHz frequency response. To top it off, the PhōnFreq's convertible half-yoke mount supplies you with four ultra-precise placement options. Whether you use it on drums, vocals, harmonica, or something else entirely, the PhōnFreq is your first-class boarding pass to the textural, lo-fi grit that makes a track jump out of a mix.

Telephone-style effects made easy
The PhōnFreq is the easiest way to achieve lo-fi, telephone-style effects we've ever encountered here at Sweetwater. Back in the day, we'd have to duct-tape a telephone receiver to a mic stand, wedge it into a recording or live mic setup, or dream up some other DIY'd method. Not only does the PhōnFreq allow you to create low-fidelity effects with a small, half-pound microphone, it also includes a convertible half-yoke mount that gives you four different mounting options. Standard provides a 45-degree articulation up and down. Reverse Yoke permits full 360-degree articulation with the mic body reversed. 90-degree Mount screws the mount directly to the body for a 90-degree, side-address, low-profile option. Finally, Handheld removes the mount entirely for the old-school hand-cupping technique favored by harmonica players.
