The Right Cymbal for the Right Player
We aren't sure what to make of the Paiste Rude Shred Bell. It's neither a crash, splash, or ride, but it has qualities of all three. The Shred Bell's cowbell-like attack is nice for accentuating bass drum patterns. It sounds a bit like a ride in that regard, but much thinner and more focused. It gets good and trashy as it opens up, which we can see working well for quarter-note breakdown rhythms. The Shred Bell is also articulate for cymbal work. All we can say is try one for yourself!
