Its caramel-colored artisan wood shell is handcrafted from premium bubinga and maple — two of the finest shell tonewoods on the planet — to deliver an impeccable response and unfathomable dynamic range. the 8" x 15" TAMA Star Reserve Bubinga/Maple snare is crowned with Brass Mighty Hoops to achieve maximum balance and punch. And thanks to its Star Reserve lugs and hardware, which includes the Linear-Drive dual snare system, this hybrid snare is equipped for whatever style of music you throw at it. Hybrid bubinga/maple wood shell

Bubinga and maple make for an intoxicating tonal cocktail in this TAMA Star Reserve hybrid snare. And at 8" deep and 15" in diameter, it really packs a wallop.

2.3mm brass hoops

A fine edge gives TAMA's specialized Customized Brass Mighty Hoops added brightness and attack, resulting in a cutting cross-stick and a dynamic backbeat every time.

Linear-Drive throw off and butt plate

TAMA's model MLS50 throw off prevents the "slap" of snare wires hitting the bottom head, allowing seamless transitions between tenored and active snare tones. The Linear-Drive system holds snare wires firmly and safely at a 30° angle and features a linear-motion strainer mechanism for precise snare tensioning. A matching butt plate completes the set.
