NEAT: Saving Live Sound One Event at a Time

There’s a phrase you’ll hear at Sweetwater: “Two is one, one is none.” It’s something we like to say to ourselves and one another as we’re heading out to gigs, auditions, presentations, or outdoor adventures. It’s a friendly reminder that mission-critical pieces of a kit can (and do) fail at the worst possible moments, so always carry a backup.

If it’s true anywhere in audio, then it’s especially true in live sound. Because whether you’re entertaining concertgoers or ministering to multitudes, you only get one shot to keep the show running smoothly. And however gracious your audience may be, a hiccup in the stream, session, or concert can nuke the atmosphere you and your crew have worked so hard to create. Or worse: it could even cost you the job.

How a NEAT Redundant Audio System Can Save Your Show

In such cases, an automated redundant audio system — one that’ll keep audio going in and coming out in the event of an outage — can mean the difference between a seamless show and a disaster. Fortunately, our friends at NEAT (“Next Era Audio Technologies”) have made it super-easy to add a redundant playback or recording system to your existing setup, so you never have to bear the shame of fumbling the bag in the line of duty.

What Is NEAT Audio?

NEAT audio systems are assembled by industry vets with years of experience working on the frontlines of touring live acts. Each system is meticulously designed and constructed to ensure your event goes off without a hitch — whether that means keeping the party hopping past midnight or immortalizing a once-in-a-lifetime concert event.

How Does It Work?

NEAT partners with the industry’s leading pro audio manufacturers (because why reinvent the wheel?) to bring you redundancy systems that are elegant, streamlined, and road-tested. Inside each NEAT redundancy rack system, you’ll find your favorite gear from Universal Audio, iConnectivity, Radial, and more, along with options for networked audio and remote control.

Rear rack connectors make patching and packing your NEAT a snap. And at the end of the night, your NEAT redundancy system packs up in a custom Pelican flight case for peace of mind in the rider truck or when soaring miles above sea level. Neat, huh?
