How can I monitor the audio from my keyboard and only record the MIDI data from it in Pro Tools, not the audio?

When I launch Pro Tools I get an “Access Violation” error followed by “Fatal exception occurred. Pro Tools must exit. A log file written Referenced memory at, could not be read” on a Windows system.

The Digi003R seems to power up in a funny way. The lights blink a couple of times and in between it pauses with no light on. I also hear some clicking inside the unit.
