What MIDI ports should show up on the Tascam US2400 control surface on Windows XP? Why do the MIDI ports say USB Audio Device?
The MIDI ports should be labeled:
USB Audio Device
USB Audio Device #2
USB Audio Device #3
USB Audio Device #4
USB Audio Device #5
This is just the nature of the USB drivers built-into Windows XP, it does not mean the device has audio capabilities or has anything to do with audio. These are, in fact, MIDI ports for the various parts of the control surface.
