Turbo Hard Reset For K2000/K2vx/K2500

Today’s tip comes to us from Daniel Fisher, Sweetwater’s Chief Soundware Engineer, and the world’s foremost Kurzweil programming authority.TURBO HARD RESET for K2000/K2vx/K2500: This is a lightning fast way to return your Kurzweil to a completely clean and factory reset condition without a wait:First, practice a SOFT RESET. (This will not harm any of your programs or samples, but you should SAVE just in case.) To perform a SOFT RESET, simultaneously press the three buttons on the keypad that are labeled “+/-“, “0”, and “CLR”. (They are directly above “CANCEL” and “ENTER”.)Now practice a HARD RESET. Go to the Master Page and press RESET. Answer “Yes”, “Yes”. Notice that you have to wait a half minute while all the effects initialize. Since the Kurzweil’s effects rarely need to be initialized, you can skip that part with a TURBO HARD RESET.To do this, do a HARD RESET and after you have read the words, “Initializing all memory. Please wait…” (or about a 1-2 second delay), perform a SOFT RESET. This allows the Kurzweil to HARD RESET while the lengthy effects initialization is bypassed by the SOFT RESET.Note: If you ever suspect your effects are corrupted, it is best to perform a full HARD RESET to completely initialize your machine.
