Symptom: Windows does not ask for the driver disk when installing the Aark 24 and instead installs software for an unknown device. Or, Windows asks you for a driver disk for another manufacturer

Problem: Software has been previously loaded onto your computer for different audio hardware with same chip set. This is a common problem if you have previously installed audio hardware manufactured by Event Electronics or any other audio hardware that uses a Motorola chip set for PCI access.

Solution: You must remove the device driver that the Windows driver database is referencing. In the Windows Explorer, locate file folder C:\winodws\inf\other. This is where Windows keeps drivers for devices that were not included on the Windows installation CD (devices that were not included with your computer). Find the file name that corresponds to the other manufacturer’s audio hardware. Highlight and delete that file. Then open the Windows Control Panel, double-click on SYSTEM, and highlight the DEVICE MANAGER tab. Double-Click on SOUND, VIDEO, AND GAME CONTROLLERS. Highlight the icon for the previously installed audio hardware. Click REMOVE, then click REFRESH. Windows will ask for the Aark 24 driver diskette.
