Speaker Interferences and Computer Screens

If a nearfield monitor isn’t magnetically shielded, how far must it be placed from the computer screen to avoid interferences?” Thanks for your question, Joeri! The answer depends to an extent on how strong the magnets are in your speakers, and how sensitive your computer monitor is to interference. But, in general, we’ve found that allowing a few feet (1 to 3) between the two should be sufficient. The bottom line is, can you see distortion on your computer screen? If so, the speakers are too close. You’ll probably find it easiest to see distortion with a solid, light colored pattern on your screen.The other consideration is the audio interference caused by proximity of a computer monitor to your audio speakers.
