How do I setup FTP file sharing between my Windows PC and my Mackie MDR24/96 or HDR24/96?

To setup the PC,
1. Connect the two units with a Category 5 Crossover ethernet cable.
2. To get to the PC’s TCP/IP settings, go to Start – Settings – Control Panel – Network. Double-click on the network card’s TCP/IP and go to IP Address.
3. If “Obtain an IP address automatically” is checked, you may not have to specify one. If you choose to specify an address, choose “Specxify an IP address” and set to the following:

*** to verify the MDR or HDR’s FTP setup, press the SYSTEM button, and choose FTP setup. This is where you will see info on IP addresses etc.
IP Address : 10.10.28.21 *(one digit higher than the MDR or HDR’s IP address)
Subnet mask : 255.255.0.0 *(same as MDR or HDR’s “Sub” setting in Setup FTP)

4. Go to the tab Gateway and type this address and click Add.
Gateway address: 10.10.10.10 *(same as MDR or HDR’s “Gate” setting in Setup FTP)

5. Close the network boxes and restart your computer.
6. In the MDR or HDR, press System, then set the FTP mode to FAST (instead of slow).
7. Then press RUN FTP for the Mackie to start its FTP server.
8. Launch your FTP client software and connect to the address: 10.10.28.20

an index of of the MDR or HDR’s hard drive contents should appear.
