Setting Up Your Delta Card To Work With Cakewalk

1. Open the M-Audio Delta Control Panel and go to the PATCHBAY ROUTER.

2. Under the column, Patchbay/Router, check MONITOR MIXER.

3. Go to the Monitor Mixer Tab and turn up all the faders. Cakewalk requires using this type of direct monitoring for multi-track recording.

3a. Also, make sure that the mute boxes are unchecked.

3b. Note that on Delta 66s and 1010s, there is a scrollbar at the bottom which leads you to additional channels

4. Open up Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 and go to the OPTIONS menu and select AUDIO. Go to the Drivers tab. Make sure that all drivers pertaining to the Delta (input AND output) are highlighted so that they are enabled.

5. Go to the General tab.
5a. Run the WAVE PROFILER (Bottom of the Screen) if you havenít already done so.

6. Set the PLAYBACK TIMING MASTER as well as the RECORD TIMING MASTER to the DELTA.

7. Set the File Bit Depth and Sample Rate. Make sure the sample rate matches the rate selected in the M-Audio Delta Control Panel. This is found under the Hardware Settings tab of our M-Audio Delta Control Panel.
Close Cakewalk and Re-Launch it.

8. Now go back to Cakewalk. You are ready to enable a track for recording in Cakewalk by double-clicking on the SOURCE column of the track you wish to record on. Select the desired inputs you wish to record on. Also make sure that the Delta is selected under the PORT settings.Click OK when you are done doing so.

9. Now enable the track for recording by clicking on the R column of the track you just set. You’re all set to record!
