How do I set the USD to either PAL or NTSC mode?
The USD has to specifically be set to either NTSC or PAL mode in order to properly sync to systems in those specific formats. As of the date of this writing, this parameter has to be set from either the front panel of the USD, or from the USD Setup application; it cannot be set from within the Pro Tools application. – To set it from the front panel of the USD:1) Make sure that the USD is not in Remote Mode. Look at the LED on the bottom right of the front panel labeled “REMOTE MODE.” If this LED is on, it means that the USD is being controlled by either the Pro Tools or USD Setup applications, and you will not be allowed to change any settings using the front panel buttons. If this is the case, quit the USD Setup or Pro Tools. The Remote Mode LED should go off, meaning that the USD is now in Local mode, allowing you to change settings using the front panel buttons.2) Go on the front panel of the USD, and press the [Set] button; this will get you into the settings menu. Pressing the [Up] and [Down] button will allow you to scroll through the menu items.3) Press the [Up] the button until and the USD gets to the up most menu item. It will say:”VIdEo Sy” (which stands for Video Systems)4) Press the [Set] button again. This will get you into the Video System parameter page; the display will read either “nTSC” or “PAL”. 5) Using the [Up] and [Down] button, choose the mode you will be working in (NTSC or PAL) and press the [Set] button again. To get out of the settings menu, press [Set] one more time, and the USD’s front panel should go back to displaying Time Code location.- To set it from the USD Setup application:1) You never want to have the USD Setup application launched at the same time as the Pro Tools application. Since both programs can attempt to control and receive information from the USD, this can cause conflicts. So, quit the Pro Tools application, if it is launched, and then launch USD Setup. Make sure to use the proper version of USD Setup.Make sure the USD Setup is set properly to see the USD. Look at the LED on the bottom right of the front panel of the USD labeled “REMOTE MODE.” When the USD Setup application is launched, that LED should be lit, meaning that the front panel buttons are disabled, and the USD is being controlled from the USD Setup software. Make some simple changes (such as sample rate) on the USD Setup software and look at the front panel of the USD, to make sure it is following the commands.2) On the right side of the USD Setup window, there is a pop-up menu labeled “Video Format.” Set the pop-up menu to either NTSC or PAL. After setting this parameter, close USD Setup, and go back to work with Pro Tools.IMPORTANT NOTE: Please be aware that changing the Video System parameter (also called Video Format) of the USD, makes it change all of its internal algorithms and calculations, so that if it is set to the wrong mode, the unit will never sync properly and accurately. However, since the changes are minute, it may be hard to notice the difference. Therefore, when working with different video systems, always triple-check that this is set correctly.

The estimated required monthly payment shown which excludes taxes and delivery equals the amount financed divided by the number of months in the promo period, rounded up to the next cent. During the last month(s) of the promo period the required monthly payment may be reduced due to this rounding. These payments apply only with the financing offer shown. If you make these payments by the due date each month, you should pay off this amount financed within the promo period, if it is the only balance you are paying off. If you have other balances on your account, this payment will be added to any other minimum monthly payments.
