Getting Started With the Samson Go Mic

In this guide, we will show you how to set up and connect your Samson Go Mic for the first time. Follow the sections below to get started.

1. Connect the Go Mic to your computer
2. Update your computer sound settings

   • Go USB Mic PC setup

Connect the Go Mic to your computer

Setting up the Samson Go Mic is effortless. The Go Mic is class-compliant on both Mac and PC, so no additional driver software is needed. All you need to do is connect the Go Mic to your computer using the included USB cable. If you want to use headphones, connect them to the headphone jack at this time. 

Update your computer sound settings

Once the Go Mic is connected and recognized by your computer, the last thing you need to do is update your computer and DAW sound settings. Follow these instructions to update your settings for both Mac and PC. 

Go Mic Mac setup

1. From the Menu Bar, click the Apple icon and select System Preferences.
2. Click Sound.
3. Under the Input tab, select the Samson Go Mic as your primary input device.
   • If you have headphones connected, be sure to select the Go Mic as your output device, as well.
4. Launch your DAW, select the Samson Go Mic as the input (and output, if applicable) as your input and output device, and update your project so it’s 16-bit 44.1kHz.

Go Mic PC setup

1. Right-click the Speaker icon on the Windows taskbar, then select Sound Settings.
2. Navigate to the Input section, and use the dropdown box to select the Go Mic.
   • If you have headphones connected, be sure to select the Go Mic as your output device, as well.
3. Launch your DAW, select the Samson Go Mic as the input (and output, if applicable) as your input and output device, and update your project so it’s 16-bit 44.1kHz.
