8. Optional Parallel Remote Control offers multiple command modes via combinations of switch closures, or connection to external computer system, including “Go-to-PNO, and related search functions.
PRIMARY DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SV 3800 AND SV4100 PRO-DAT
1. Instant-Start Mode: The SV-4100 features a Ram-based Instant-Start Mode, which loads audio into a memory buffet. A selected Cue Point can be relocated forwards/backwards, use the Shuttle Wheel, or Skip/Setting, (Each press of Skip-FWD/Back equals +/- DAT Frame.) Press Pause once to audition Cue Point. Press Play to perform Instant Start and continue playing until Stop/Pause is selected.
2. Cue Points can be stored in four Memory Locations, hold and press down Locate 1, Locate 2, Locate 3 or Locate 4 buttons for at least 2 seconds.
(H:M:S:F location is stored in non-volatile RAM when unit is powered down.)
3. Absolute-Time Search Mode or ” Go-to-A-Time” in H:M:S:F can be entered using the front-panel buttons, or an external computer via the parallel remote interface.
4. External Synchronization Mode enables the SV-4100’s master CPU clock to be locked to External Video (25Hz PAL, plus 29.97 Hz and 30.0 Hz NTSC/film), Word Clock, or the digital Input. External sync is available in both record/playback modes. (“Cross-referencing” the External Video Sync and front-panel selection results in corresponding 0.1% mismatch from the selected 32, 44.1, or 48kHz sampling rates, for 44.056, 44.144, 47.952 and 48.048 kHz pull-up/downs for telecine and mixed-rate film/video applications).
5. Automated Assemble and Insert Edit capabilities, with instant start, using two SV-4100s interconnected together via parallel interface ports.
