3. Launch OMS and create an OMS Studio setup document.

4. In the Edit menu choose OMS MIDI setup. Make sure Run MIDI in background is
enabled.

5. Quit OMS and launch FreeMIDI.
– If Freemidi is being launched for the first time, a dialog will ask you if you want to use OMS or FreeMIDI. Choose OMS.
– If Freemidi has already been launced and configured (before OMS was installed). Launch freemidi setup, choose FreeMIDI Preferences from the FILE menu, and check t
the box f”Use OMS when available”. Then QUIT freemid iand restart your computer. The next time you launch FreeMIDI or a FreeMIDI application your current configuration will be your OMS Studio Setup.

This scenario is ideal for people who use both FreeMIDI and OMS applications.

It is also required for owners of non-MOTU midi interfaces who are using FreeMIDI applications.p *Encourage the customer to find a way to download one of these options. It will save them time and money.
If your customer has no Internet access and does have a ZIP or a SMF compatible sequencer – Sweetwater has a ZIP loaded with the software for $75 and a Mac or PC floppy disk with the SMF files for $25….Service will handle shipping these to the customer! WE HAVE TO CREATE THESE DISKS, WE DON’T STOCK THEM…
