I have the old FS software on my laptop , how do i properly install the new upgrade to 1.1 Traktor ? How do i copy all my record box info over to the new software ?
You can install Traktor FS without affecting the prior FS version. Just install the software and you will get an additional boot option at startup, one for FS too.
To export record boxes from FS 1.0 you will have to update FS first. This update is located on the Traktor FS install CD (fs_update_1_0_7__1_0_8.zip)
Copy the file to our FS updates folder and run the software update once. This will create a copy of your FS Record Boxes in Traktor FS collection file format. Your FS 1 record boxes will lnot be altered in any way by the update.
Importing the Record Boxes
Reboot TFS. When TFS is up, quit the application to enter the srvice menu and choose option 2, Import FS colletion, to import your previously exported boxes.
FYI. transferring FS record boxes to TFS overwrites your TFS collection. Do the transfer before starting to collect songs in your TFS collection. To merge the FS record boxes into an existing TFS collection you have to save the complete collection as a playlist and reimport it after the transfer. see the printed manual for how to do this.
