Native Instruments MPC Expansion Software Activation Instructions
Getting Started
This guide will show you how to activate and access your Native Instruments MPC expansion. To continue, follow the sections below.
inMusic Profile
MPC expansions require an inMusic Profile. If you already have an inMusic Profile and want to register your new software to that account, please verify your login before proceeding. Most users will only have one account, but in some cases, you may choose to create another account to distinguish different locations, users, etc.
IMPORTANT! Do not create multiple inMusic Profiles if you only need one. Instead, try accessing the account using your current login. If necessary, try resetting your password or recovering your account login.
Sign in to an Existing inMusic Profile
- Go to the inMusic Profile page.
- Enter your current login and click Sign In.
- Verify that your current products are registered to the current account.
Create a New inMusic Profile
- Go to the inMusic Profile page.
- Click Create Account.
- Complete the form and click Create account.
- Sign in using your new login to verify your account.
inMusic Software Center
MPC expansions are managed from the inMusic Software Center app. From there, you can enter the serial number to activate your software. Once that’s completed, the software will be officially added to your inMusic Profile and can be downloaded and installed from inMusic Software Center.
Download and Install inMusic Software Center
- Go to the inMusic Software Center page.
- Click the download button that is compatible with your computer.
- Open your Downloads folder and run the installer.
- PC: Double-click the .exe file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Mac: Double-click the .zip file to open it. In the new folder, drag and drop the app to the Applications folder.
Serial Number
Sweetwater has emailed you the serial number for your software. Open the email, find the serial number, and follow the steps below to redeem it with inMusic.
Activate Serial Number
- Open the inMusic Software Center app.
- Log in with your inMusic Profile.
- Click Add Product and select Software.
- Enter your serial number and click Add.
Download and Install MPC Expansion
MPC expansions are downloaded and installed from the inMusic Software Center app, too. Configure the sound library download and install locations to reflect where you wish to install your new expansion. First download the expansion, then install it to your MPC’s internal drive.
Download MPC Expansion
- Open the inMusic Software Center app.
- Log in with your inMusic Profile.
- Click your product’s download button.
Install MPC Expansion
Once downloaded, MPC expansions can be installed to a hard drive compatible with MPC.
- Select the drive to which you want to install the content. Connect it to your computer.
- Verify that the drive has sufficient available storage for the entire pack (internal SATA drive recommended).
- Internal MPC SATA drives can connect to your computer by putting your MPC into “controller mode.”
- Create a folder in the drive’s root directory titled “Expansions” (one may already exist).
- Click Show in Folder to view your MPC Expansion folder.
- Move the entire MPC Expansion folder inside the Expansions folder.
- Wait for the files to copy, and then safely eject the drive.
- Insert the drive into your MPC. The expansion will appear in the browser, under the Expansions tab.
