My MOTU 2408, 24i, 1224, 2496, or 308 won’t load the control panel and has a ‘RATS’ error. What does this mean?
This error typically shows up during Windows bootup or loading the PCI324 console, but is possible to appear when installing the card.
This message can mean one of 3 problems:
1. The card is not seated properly in the PCI slot. Simply remove and reinsert, making sure all pins are contacting and even.
2. You have a VIA Tech chipset on your motherboard (Check out the type of USB controller in your device manager – Right click on My Computer, Properties, Device Manager, USB controllers. You’ll either have AMD, SIS, VIA, or Intel. This is typically the type of chipset on your motherboard)
If you have a VIA Tech chipset, go to their homepage at http://www.viatech.com/ and download their 4-in-1 drivers. These are updated Windows drivers for many of the basic operations performed on your motherboard, and can eliminate this problem.
3. Your PCI-324 card is defective. Call Sweetwater Tech Support for service.
