Mac OS9 and PACE copy protected software
If you are planning to use PACE copy protected BIAS Products (excluding Peak 2.1 and Deck 2.6.3) with a Power Macintosh G4 system, or with an iMac, iBook, Bronze keyboard G3 PowerBook, or Blue and White G3 system running Mac OS 9, you will need to install a new System Extension to ensure compatibility. This extension is called PACE USB Floppy Enabler Version 2.0, and can be downloaded at no charge from this URL: http://www.paceap.com/usb_enabler.html
The Situation: Power Macintosh G4 systems, and G3 “ROM-in-RAM” (NewWorld) systems running Mac OS 9, incorporate an architectural change that causes them to crash when any software protected with InterLok versions prior to 2.0, or with earlier PACE technology, is run. These affected systems include:
Power Macintosh G4
iMac
iBook
Blue and White G3 PowerMac
Bronze keyboard G3 PowerBook
Downloading and installing the PACE USB Floppy Enabler Version 2.0 will correct this problem.
