I have just purchased the B4 upgrade for OS X including the additional tonewheels. I can’t get the tonewheels to authorize. They keep giving an error message each time i try.
It might be confusing, but you will need to have the OS 9 B4 installation CD entered in order to authorize the tonewheels.
In fact the process of authorizing the tonewheels at all using the OS 9 B4 installtion CD (!) is sometimes a bit tricky. Please enter the OS 9 installation CD of B4. You do not have to click anything on this disc nor to open it. then start the previously installed B4 for OS X. You will be prompoted to locate the tonewheels folder in a file dialog window. Do so, navigate to the B4 folder, find the tonewheels folder, open it and select one of the files there which have the ending “twc”. Press open. After a short time B4 will come up and all is done.
Notice please: it might be the case that the file dialog to find the tonewheels appears twice. If so, show the tonewheels to the B4 as described above once again, then the process will be sufficient.
