Why isn’t my Aardvark DirectProQ10 getting any input into Sonar or other audio programs in Windows XP? I am still seeing input in the Aardvark control panel.
If you are seeing input into the Aardvark Q10 control panel but not getting signal into your audio application like Sonar, you might have installed the Q10 drivers without the box connected to the PCI card. This defaults the PCI card to Aark24 mode, which will change routing of audio from the card to the computer. Here’s how to fix it.
This is kind of like a ‘hard reset’ for the Aardvark drivers, forcing them to re-detect the type of boxes you have.
*** Please note this involves modifying your system Registry, which, if done incorrectly, could render your system unusable. Please edit with extreme caution.
1. Go to Start – Run and type REGEDIT and press Enter
2. Backup your Registry: Go to File – Export and select Export Range (at the bottom) of ALL. Then type a filename and save it to an easy-to-get-to location. This process may take a minute.
3. The Windows Registry is organized like folders on your hard drive. Follow these folder ‘trees’:
a. HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software and delete the folder for Aardvark
b. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE and delete the folder for Aardvark
4. Exit Regedit (no need to save)
5. Reboot your system
Your Aardvark PCI card will now detect what type of Aardvark box you have connected and should work correctly.
