Instructions for configuring Cubase and OMS with a MOTU MIDI interface.

A. Setting up OMS
1. Install OMS 2.3.8 _first_ (before freemidi or MOTU USB drivers), and restart the computer.
2. Install the latest version of FreMIDI (1.46) and restart the computer again.
*(you don’t need to use FreeMIDI, however FreeMIDI installs MOTU drivers for USB device “into” OMS)
3. Launch OMS Setup
4. Follow the steps to create an OMS Setup
* at the “OMS Driver Search” page, be sure NOT to check modem or printer.
be sure that OMS automatically detects the MOTU USB interface.
5. Complete your OMS Setup by adding MIDI devices (STUDIO menu, NEW device), and specifying which port they’re attached to.

B. Setting up Cubase
1. From the Options menu, MIDI Setup, choose System. Configure Cubase to use OMS for input and output under OMS Compabtibility.
2. In the same window, under the “Input From” menu, enabe the MIDI inputs that you would like Cubase to access.
3. In your Arrange window, now choose the MIDI ouput that you would like to assign a track to.
