Solved: Third-Party Plug-Ins Not Showing up in Universal Audio LUNA
Overview
If your third-party plug-in isn’t loading into LUNA, you may need disable the Accelerated Realtime Monitoring (ARM) feature or delete a specific file to get it working again. Follow the steps below to get started.
Disable Accelerated Realtime Monitoring (ARM)
ARM is a feature in LUNA which allows near zero-latency monitoring while you’re recording with UAD plug-ins. When this is enabled, third-party plug-will not appear. If you wish to use third-party plug-ins you’ll need to disable the ARM feature. You can do this one of two ways:
- Click ARM in the top toolbar located next to the Pre-roll and Post-roll.
- Go to the mixer window, and click the ARM icon located to the left of the first track.

Delete AUPlug-Ins.json
If after you disabled the ARM function and your third-party AU plug-ins still aren’t showing up, you will need to delete a specific file from the Universal Audio workspace folder. Follow the steps below to delete the plug-ins file.
- Quit LUNA.
- Go to Finder, click Go on the Mac toolbar, and enter the following the location:
- ~/Library/Application Support/Universal Audio/workspace/
- Delete AUPlug-Ins.json, then relaunch LUNA. Your plug-ins should now appear.
