I hear a very pronounced echo when I’m recording into my software.
What you’re hearing is a combination of the signal you are recording and that same signal being played back by your software application. The second signal is delayed due to the computer system’s latency. To eliminate the second signal-the echo-simply lower the fader of the track you are recording in your software’s on-screen mixer.
When I try to launch Cubase, I get one of the following error messages: “Audio Engine Could Not Load” or “Attempt to Load ASIOEZbus.dll Failed.”
When using Cubase VST, you must disable the Microsoft GS Wavetable synth. Instructions for disabling this synth can be found at:
http://www.event1.com/Support/EZbus/Control/VST.html
You will also need to download and install the latest version of the EZbus ASIO driver. Before installing the new version, the older version must be deleted from your hard drive.
1) In Windows XP, you can find the ASIO driver, called ASIOEZBUS.dll, in the folder
C:\ Windows \ System 32. In Windows ME the file is located in C:\ Windows \ System. Once you have found the file, delete it.
2) Download the latest ASIO driver from:
http://www.event1.com/Support/EZbus/Updates/ASIO.html
The driver should be downloaded into the same folder where the older version resided. After downloading, locate the file, then click on it and drag it on top of the file named REGSVR32, which is located in the same folder. Now release the mouse button; a message box will appear stating “DllRegisterService in ASIOEZbus.dll successful”. This message tells you that the Windows registry recognizes that the ASIO driver is installed.
3) Launch your software application and navigate to the window where you select the ASIO driver. The EZbus ASIO driver will appear in the selection window.
