I hear distortion and static noise when I open Cuemix using my MOTU 8pre in Windows 7.

This can be resolved by changing the firewire driver in device manager to Legacy mode, and by updating your firmware.

First, click on your Windows start button then in the search box type “device manager” and press ENTER. In device manager, double click on “IEEE 1394 Bus Host Controllers”. Right click the device immediately underneath and choose “update driver”. Choose “browse my computer…”, then “let me pick from a list…”. In the menu, choose “1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (legacy)” then press next. Once that is finished, download the updated 8 pre driver AND 8pre firmware from your MOTU account. Leave the firewire driver in legacy mode.
