I’m having problems installing my Aardvark DirectPro Q10. What should I do?

ERROR MESSAGES:

Unsupported operation attempted when loading control panel = need updated q10.exe

Aark 20/20 panel is up, after 30 seconds, interface not connected, cable not connected, no q10 found in system = defective interface / card.

unable to send software to host card, no aark cards found could be defective or conflict, try 4-in-1 drivers if VIA.

could not unlock mov – try another pci slot, could be defective card

* Always try custom uninstall, select all.
* 20/20 control panel means communication problem (it’s the default)

INSUFFICIENT MEMORY
the memory address the Aardvark is trying to use is conflicting with another device, which is why he suggested disabling your other hardware. device manager , go to Sound, Video, Game controllers and double click your Aark. Go to resources, uncheck Use Automatic Settings, and double-click the Memory Range. Try another setting (any as long as it says No devices are conflicting), hit ok a few times, and reboot. You may need to try this several times because some devices don’t tell Windows that they are using the address. This is basically the part of the memory in which the data is actually transferred to and from the card, and Ben says Windows can give that message if this conflict occurs.
Has it ever given a ‘MOB error’? This could indicate a defective card. Also, you could try disabling hardware devices to eliminate them from using these memory locations.

Not reading AARKHOST.INF
Run REGEDIT Go to H_Key_Local_Machine, enum, pci, and there should be several keys (folders). One is named VEN_1057&DEV_1801&subsys_7f36df1c. The last few digits could be a bit different, but if you expand that folder with plus sign or double-clicking, click on the BUS_ something and at the right, it will display DEVICE_DESC as Aark 24, 20/20 and Q10. Just verify that this key is there, and looks normal (this, of course, is relative- I’m not sure anything in the registry looks normal to human eyes!). Also, open up the aarkhost.inf and verify that the key is in there. There are two locations in the inf file- toward the beginning (look in the middle of the line for DirectproQ10) and at the very end, this time looking at the right for DirectproQ10.
