I have an external effects processor that is equipped with digital input and output, but it only supports 44.1kHz or 48kHz sample rates; can I connect it digitally to my 192 I/O for use with an 88.2k, 96k, 176.4k, or 192k session?

This is not possible for the following reason: the Digital Card on the 192 I/O can sample rate convert on input (AES, TDIF, or ADAT on the digital card), but cannot sample rate convert on output (AES, TDIF, or ADAT).
As a workaround, you can go analog out to the effects processor, and return digitally from the effects processor (or just use analog in and out to the effects processor).
