The Windows 2000 Wave Driver (v1.7.1) for Digidesign hardware using Windows
2000, will be available for download at the following web address starting

The Digidesign Windows 2000 Wave Driver is a two-channel, multimedia wave driver
for Digidesign’s TDM systems. This wave driver allows third-party audio
applications to record and/or play through channels 1-2 of the first peripheral
connected to your MIX Core or d24 card. It is compatible with Windows 2000
(Service Pack 1 and Service Pack 2)

Q: Where can I get the Win2K Wave Driver?
A: The driver is only available for download at the following URL:
http://www.digidesign.com/download/wavdrv.html
The driver does not appear on any Digidesign CD-ROM.
Q: What is the difference between this driver and the previous driver?
A: Other than support of the Windows 2000 operating system, the main difference
is an additional 1024 buffer setting, which improves the audio playback quality
when auditioning audio CDs and when using it with other audio applications.
Q: Which operating systems are supported with this Wave Driver?
A: Windows 2000 with Service Pack 1 or Service Pack 2 only.
Q: Can I use the Win2K Wave Driver with more than one audio application at the
same time?
A: No, the wave driver is NOT multi-client capable. Only one application can
send audio through the wave driver at a time. Additionally, Digidesign
recommends installing a separate sound card for third party software-based
synthesizers, games or multi-client audio work.
Q: Can I use the Win2K Wave Driver with Digi 001 or AMIII?
A: This is not recommended. The Win2K Wave Driver has been developed and tested
to work with Digidesign TDM systems only. Additionally, Pro Tools LE for Digi
001 and AMIII do not support Windows 2000.
