DAE error -9161 or -9162
Failure to send a message to a plug-in. This error is usually followed by DAE error -9162, failure to receive a message from a plug-in.- The Motorola 56301 DSP chip on MIX and d24 cards changed specs in the fall of 2000. New cards are identifiable by checking the Mask stenciled on the 56301 Motorola chip. In contrast, the previous version of the chip is marked “3F48S”- Verify compatible versions of the Waves plug-ins are installed. Must have waveshell and waves plugins version 2.8.1 or later for Pro Tools 5.0 or 5.01.- Check TDM ribbon cable is seated properly.- Verify Expansion Chassis ribbon cable is seated properly.- Check DAE buffer settings. Generally Mix and d24 systems should be set to DAE Buffer Size 2.- Update the DSP Manager and Mixer plug-ins- Run DigiTest on cards
