Custom Uninstall of Cubase VST: Problem: Cubase VST PC cannot detect my dongle (copy protection key) or the user gets an error message pertaining to the “Protected Object Server .”
1. Make sure the Dongle is firmly connected to the printer port.
2. Download and run the POS1030.EXE Dongle fix from www.steinberg.net
3. Try ALL the settings in the computer’s Bios, starting with Epp mode.
4. Another printer port device connected to the dongle may be interrupting data flow. Disconnect this item. If it is a printer port Midi interface, recommend the user purchase a second printer port.
5. Try installing Cubase VST on another PC to determine the dongle is bad and needs replacement. This would determine there’s something system specific that cannot read the Dongle.
6. If all of the above indicate the dongle still cannot be seen, get a replacement through customer service.
