Creating a Tempo Change on the Korg TR

To change the tempo in the middle of a song:
1. Press the SEQ button to enter the Sequencer mode.
2. Press the Menu button.
3. Press F5 to enter the Track Edit page.
4. Press F8 to Open.
5. Press the arrow up button repeatedly until the track # reads MASTER TRACK.
6. Press F8 to select “UTILITY”
7. Using the arrow buttons up and down, select “Create/ERS Ctrl”
8. Press F8 to Open.
You will need to set the Start and End measures that the tempo will be affected on. You can either
make a gradual or abrupt tempo change, depending on the “distance” between the Start and End
measure that you select. The tempo changes gradually from the original tempo to the new tempo in
the time given between the Start and End measure. The closer they are in number, the faster the
tempo change will take place. If the Start and End measure are set the same, the tempo change will
be instant.
9. Using the cursor arrow buttons, cursor over to the “From Measure” value.
10. Using the “INC/DEC” buttons, select the measure that the tempo should start to change on.
11. Using the cursor arrow buttons, cursor over to the “To Measure” value.
12. Using the “INC/DEC” buttons, select the measure that the tempo change should finish taking place on.
13. Using the cursor arrow buttons cursor over to “Start”.
14. Using the “INC/DEC” buttons, select the song’s current tempo value.
15. Using the cursor arrow buttons, cursor over to “End”.
16. Using the “INC/DEC” buttons, select the new tempo value.
17. Press F8 “OK”. The Tempo value change has been placed in the master control track.
18. Press the EXIT button.
19. Press the arrow buttons to highlight “Manu” near the top right hand side of the screen.
20. Using the “INC/DEC” buttons select “Auto”, which will allow the sequencer to see the changes on the
tempo track.
