Blackmagic Design Software Activation Instructions

Getting Started

This guide will show you how to activate and access your Blackmagic Design software. To continue, follow each of the sections below.  

1. Blackmagic Design Account (Optional)
   • Sign in with an existing Blackmagic Design account
   • Create a new Blackmagic Design account
2. Download
   • Download and install Blackmagic Design software
3. Activation Key
   • Enter Activation Key

1. Blackmagic Design Account (Optional)

An account is not required to activate Blackmagic Design software. If you already have an account, then please verify the login and sign in before proceeding. In some cases, users may wish to create another account to register their software to distinguish between multiple studios, computers, accounts, etc.  

IMPORTANT! Do not create multiple accounts if you only need one. Instead, try accessing the account using your current login. If necessary, try resetting your password or recovering your account.    

Sign in with an existing Blackmagic Design account 

1. Go to the Blackmagic Design website.  
2. Click the “Log In” cloud icon.  
3. Enter your current login and click “Log in.” 
4. Verify your current products are registered to the current account. 

Create a new Blackmagic Design account 

1. Go to the Blackmagic Design website.  
2. Click the “Log In” cloud icon. 
3. Click the “Create a FREE account!” button. 
4. Complete the form and click “Sign Up.” 
5. Open your email and complete the email verification prompt.   
6. Sign in using your new login to verify your account.

2. Download

Blackmagic Design software is downloaded from the Support Center page. When prompted, enter the Serial Number (numbers) included with your Activation Code (letters and numbers). 

Download and install Blackmagic Design software  

1. Go to the Support Center page.  
2. Click your product’s download button compatible with your computer.  
3. When prompted, complete the form and enter your Serial Number.  
4. Open your Downloads folder and run the installer: 
   • PC: Right-click the .zip file, select “Extract all…,” then click “Extract.” In the new folder, double-click the .exe file and follow the on-screen instructions. 
   • Mac: Double-click the .zip file to unpack it. Double-click the .pkg file and follow the on-screen instructions.

3. Activation Key 

Blackmagic Design software is activated by entering the Activation Key into the software prompt.  

Enter Activation Key

1. Open your Blackmagic Design software.  
2. When prompted, enter your Activation Key to complete activation.
