Akai S5000 – Turn Something Sampled into Program and add Multi

After you have recorded your samples:

Go to the main EDIT PROGRAM page, F15 is CREATE PROGRAM where you may create a brand new, empty program. Pressing this pops up a screen:

An auto numbered name is automatically assigned using the currently selected program name as a ‘seed’. You may, however, rename this if you want in the usual fashion either by using the CURSOR </> keys and the DATA wheel or more conveniently with an external QWERTY keyboard.

After you create the Program you MUST setup KEYGROUPS.

A Keygroup will determine what sample will be played when you hit a note. Each Sample can receive on its own Midi Note#. This is called Key Mapping. Map your samples as per your taste. Save this into the Program when done. You can now create a Multi (which holds Programs) containing your custom Program.

See the Akai Manual for futher instructions.
