AIR Software Activation Instructions

Getting Started

This guide will show you how to activate and access your AIR software. Follow each section below and skip any parts that are not applicable to you. 

IMPORTANT! The steps below are comprehensive and include all the steps required to activate AIR plugins on desktop or MPC. Enter your Redeem Code to the My Plugivery Manager to receive your software product Serial Numbers or Activation Codes. MPC users can then enter their Serial Numbers directly within the MPC’s Activations menu, while desktop users will need the inMusic Software Center app for Serial Numbers and iLok License Manager app for Activation Codes.

  4. iLok License Manager (Activation Codes Only)
  5. Download & Installation (Desktop Only)
  6. MPC Plug-ins (MPC Only)

1. Plugivery Account

AIR software also requires a Plugivery account. If you already have a Plugivery account and want to register your new software to that account, please verify the username and login before proceeding. Most users will have only one account, but in some cases, you may choose to create another to distinguish between different locations, users, etc.  

IMPORTANT! Do not create multiple Plugivery accounts if you only need one. Instead, try accessing the account using your current login. If necessary, try resetting your password or recovering your account login.     

Sign in to an existing Plugivery account 

  1. Go to the My Plugivery Manager page and click “Connect”.  
  2. Enter your current login and click “Sign-in to My Plugivery Manager”.  
  3. Verify your current products are registered to the current account. 

Create a new Plugivery account 

  1. Go to the My Plugivery Manager page and click “Connect”.   
  2. Click “Create my Account”.   
  3. Complete the form and click “Create My Account”. 
  4. Sign in using your new login to verify your account.   

2. My Plugivery Manager

Sweetwater has emailed you the Redeem Code for your software. Open the email, find the Redeem Code, and then follow the steps below to redeem it with Plugivery. You can find all your products redeemed with Plugivery on the Licenses page. You can find each product’s title and activation code, along with additional activation instructions.  

Licenses with a Serial Number (six groups of five characters) must then be activated with the inMusic Software Center app. Alternatively, licenses with Activation Codes (seven groups of four characters ending with one group of two characters) are activated with the iLok License Manager app.  

  • InMusic Serial Number: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX  
  • iLok Activation Code: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XX 

IMPORTANT! After activating your Redeem Code with My Plugivery Manager, you must then activate the product’s Serial Number (inMusic Software Center) or Activation Code (iLok License Manager). Find your Plugivery licenses’ codes on the My Plugivery Manager Licenses page.  

IMPORTANT! AIR desktop software is downloaded from either the inMusic Software Center (Serial Numbers) or at the bottom of each product page on the AIR website (Activation Codes).   

Enter Redeem Code

  1. Go to the My Plugivery Manager page and click “Connect”.  
  2. Enter your current login and click “Sign-in to My Plugivery Manager”. 
  3. Go to the Redeem Code page.  
  4. Enter your Redeem Code and click “Next Step”.  
  5. Complete the form and click “Proceed”. 

Your Licenses

  1. Go to the Licenses page.  
  2. Locate your product and its Serial/Activation Code. 
  3. Follow the instructions below for activating a Serial Numbers and Activation Codes. 
    • inMusic Serial Number (XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX)  
      • Desktop: Use the inMusic Software Center app.  
      • MPC: Users activating MPC plugins without desktop access, can use the Activations menu to login with their inMusic profile and enter your Serial Number.  
    • iLok Activation Code (XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XX) 

3. inMusic Software Center (Serial Numbers Only) 

Many AIR software products are downloaded from the inMusic Software Center app, which requires an inMusic Profile. If you already have an inMusic Profile and want to register your new software to that account, please verify the username and login before proceeding. Most users will have only one account, but in some cases, you may choose to create another to distinguish between different locations, users, etc…  

IMPORTANT! Do not create multiple inMusic Profiles if you only need one. Instead, try accessing the account using your current login. If necessary, try resetting your password or recovering your account login.  

Verify inMusic Profile 

  1. Sign in with an existing inMusic Profile or create one for the first time. 
  2. Download and install inMusic Software Center app.  
  3. Enter Serial Number.  
  4. Download and install your software.  

Download and install inMusic Software Center 

  1. Go to the inMusic Software Center page.  
  2. Click the download button compatible with your computer.  
  3. Open your Downloads folder and run the installer: 
    • PC: Double-click the .exe file and follow the on-screen instructions. 
    • Mac: Double-click the .zip file to open it. In the new folder, drag and drop the app to the Applications folder. 

Enter Serial Number 

  1. Open the inMusic Software Center app.  
  2. Sign in with your inMusic Profile. 
  3. Click “Add Product” and select “Software”.  
  4. Enter your Serial Number and click “Add”. 

4. iLok License Manager (Activation Codes Only) 

Some AIR software features iLok-enabled software licenses, and the iLok License Manager app is required. If you already have an existing iLok User ID and wish to register your new software with that account, sign in to verify the username and login before proceeding.  

If this is your first time using iLok License Manager, create a new iLok User ID. Go to our iLok License Manager Quickstart Guide to get started with iLok for the first time. Return to this page and continue below once you have created an iLok User ID, installed the iLok License Manager, and registered any iLok USB.

IMPORTANT! iLok User IDs are case-sensitive. To reset your password or recover your account, go to the iLok Account Recovery page. 

IMPORTANT! Do not create multiple iLok User IDs if you only need one. Instead, try accessing the account using your current login. If necessary, try resetting your password or recovering your account. 

Verify iLok Account  

  1. Sign in with an existing iLok User ID or create one for the first time. 
  2. Download and install iLok License Manager app. 
  3. Register any iLok USB. 

Enter Activation Code  

  1. Open the iLok License Manager app.  
  2. Go to “Licenses”, then click “Redeem Activation Code”.  
    • Alternatively, click the “..I” button (next to the search bar) to view the prompt.  
  3. Enter your Activation Code and click “Next”. 

Activate iLok License 

  1. Click the “Available” tab. 
  2. Drag and drop your license to a valid location. 
  3. Wait for the license transfer to complete. 

5. Download & Installation (Desktop Only) 

The inMusic Software Center is used to download and install most AIR plug-ins. iLok-licensed Classic versions are instead downloaded directly from the AIR website. MPC compatible plugins have unique steps for activation on MPC devices.

Download and Install AIR Plug-ins (Serial Numbers) 

Most AIR software downloads are accessible from the inMusic Software Center.   

  1. Open inMusic Software Center app.   
  2. Sign in with your inMusic Profile.  
  3. Click your product’s Download button.  
  4. Click your product’s Install button. 

Download and Install Classic AIR Plug-ins (Activation Codes) 

Classic versions licensed with iLok are instead accessible from each plug-in’s respective product page, under “Updates”.   

  1. Go to the AIR product page for your software and click it:   
  2. Scroll down to locate the “Updates” section.  
  3. Click the latest update compatible with your computer to download it.  
  4. Launch the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.  

6. MPC Plugins (MPC Only) 

Serial Numbers for MPC Plugins can be entered in the inMusic Software Center App or within the Activations menu. Once connected to your inMusic Profile, MPC plugins are activated and downloaded from the Activations menu. Activate and Download MPC Plug-ins 

  1. Connect your MPC to the internet. 
  2. Verify your MPC hardware is registered and up to date with the latest firmware. 
  3. Find your downloads on the Akai Professional Downloads page. 
  4. On your MPC hardware, press the “Menu” button.  
  5. Navigate to “Preferences” and select the “Activations” menu.  
  6. Sign in to your inMusic Profile.  
  7. Select “Refresh” to update the plugin list.  
  8. Select “Activate” for each applicable plug-in.  
  9. Select a drive as the download location.  
  10. Select the “Download” button for your product.
