04 Hardware Error in MasterList CD.

When using Pro Tools III Hardware on a 7100 or 8100, with a Yamaha 400 CDR, MLCD 1.4 supports 2x recording only with an image file and it does not support 4x recording at all.The confusion comes about when MLCD reports a Fatal Error or a Type 4 Error. The definition of these errors indicates that this is a problem with the CDR Mechanism or with the blank media being used. On the Yamaha 400 with the 7100 or 8100 this is not always the case. The problem is actually a Buffer Underrun! So please be aware of this before telling the customer that this is a problem with the CDR 400.The workaround is to use MLCD 2.0 without the Digi Hardware (PPC required). MLCD can burn off the Mac SCSI at 2x and even 4x speeds. The only drawback is that monitoring through the digi hardware is not available. Monitoring can be done through the Mac’s outputs.
