Wood Library Luxury Meets Stoptail Simplicity
Built with a distinct set of specs inspired by the PRS Private Stock program, this PRS Wood Library Custom 24 Stoptail features top-tier tonewoods and a streamlined, vintage-inspired hardware configuration. A 1-piece Stoptail Bridge distinguishes this 6-string from just about any other Custom 24 in the PRS catalog, providing no-nonsense reliability and optimizing energy transfer between the strings and the figured maple-topped black limba body for a sustain-rich response. Standing opposite, a curly maple neck carved into PRS’s Pattern Thin profile provides fast-playing navigation over the ziricote fingerboard’s 24-fret sprawl. Under the hood, a set of PRS DMO pickups performs with a brilliant tone, thoroughly living up to their title as PRS’s most "Dynamic, Musical, and Open"-sounding pickup design. Plus, a 5-way blade switch unlocks a plethora of in-between tones to experiment with. High-class visual appointments — including a high-gloss nitro coat, “old school” bird inlays, and a striking finish that matches the top to the back of the neck — round out this PRS Wood Library Custom 24 Stoptail with a collector-grade sheen.

Simple, sturdy, and stable wraparound PRS Stoptail Bridge
Championed by Paul Reed Smith as the one bridge to rule them all, the PRS Stoptail bridge traces its legacy all the way back to the golden-age guitars of the 1950s. In fact, the wraparound 1-piece bridge was originally invented by Paul’s friend and mentor, Ted McCarty — the CEO of an iconic Kalamazoo-based manufacturer during its trailblazing 1950s and 1960s heyday. This guitar's modern Stoptail unit updates Ted’s historic blueprint with a compensated cutout for superior intonation accuracy. Moreover, the PRS Stoptail bridge is championed by countless players — including Paul himself — for its ability to transfer string energy to the body more effectively than a 2-piece setup, resulting in rich resonance, long-lasting sustain, and lock-tight stability.

Dual DMO dynamics: state-of-the-art sound
Coinciding with 40 years of aural excellence, the Wood Library Custom 24 Stoptail showcases a powerful pair of pickups that capture years of Paul’s and the PRS New Products Research team’s hands-on research and innovative development. Enter the DMO humbuckers. Short for “Dynamic, Musical, Open,” the DMO Treble and Bass pickups — mounted in the bridge and neck positions, respectively — represent a wealth of boundary-pushing possibilities. Paul and his team utilized state-of-the-art advancements in both signal analysis and tuning technologies to harness the magic of beloved vintage pickups and reimagine them for today's player, with transparent vocal character and shimmering, precise sound in every register. You also get Volume, Tone, and 5-way blade switch controls, providing you with access to a wealth of tonal variety.
Only a 10-Top will do
Curl, flame, quilt, and spalt: even in the early days of Paul Reed Smith’s guitar building, the company had a reputation for the sheer quality of figuring on its maple tops, with dazzling lines and grain patterns that make any plain top pale in comparison. Naturally, customers began to call in and request that their instruments be built with “a nice-looking top” — far too vague a term for the tonewood scientists in Stevensville, Maryland. Thus, the 10-Top designation was born: a lofty status that requires a “clearly defined figure across the entire top,” leaving no doubt that the guitar will arrive capped with a superlative piece of timber.
