Performance-ready Mic for Any Project

Whether you’re cutting tracks in a proper studio or in your bedroom, the sE Electronics X1 A offers clear, high-quality audio for a wide range of instruments. The solid metal frame and low-noise components ensure it will withstand repeated sessions in the long run with minimal fuss. Sound engineers and hobbyist producers alike at Sweetwater value the even dynamic range and high headroom tolerance, with its maximum 150dB of sound pressure handling that faithfully captures every nuance of the noisiest guitar amps and horn sections. Moreover, you get a built-in low-cut filter and a -20dB pad to tighten up your recorded sound source during tracking. The included mic clip and thread adapter fit a multitude of mic stands, and the gold XLR connector makes the X1 A a worthy microphone that grows with you in all your recording endeavors.

Sound sculpting for any task

A great-sounding track begins at the source — the microphone. With the X1 A, you have built-in tools at your disposal to capture the perfect take and make your mixing job easier. The 100Hz low-cut filter tames low-frequency rumble and footfall noise, making it ideal for solving proximity effect issues and achieving clarity with bass-heavy instruments. For louder instruments, such as close-miked guitars, horns, and percussion, a -20dB pad helps eliminate unwanted distortion in your tracks. Whatever instrument you choose to capture, the X1 A is primed for the task.

sE Electronics X1 A Features:

  • Large-diaphragm condenser microphone that has an upgraded capsule and overhauled electronics, yielding accuracy, dynamics, and a well-balanced frequency response
  • -20dB pad switch extends your dynamic range for capturing loud close-miked sources
  • 100Hz low-cut filter eliminates rumble and other unwanted low-frequency sounds
  • 150dB max SPL handling tackles guitar cabs, brass instruments, drums, and other loud sources
  • Gold-plated XLR connector ensures a solid, reliable connection
  • Durable all-metal housing and premium finish
  • Includes a rock-solid swivel mic clip and a thread adapter that fits nearly any mic stand

Reviews

Good Mic for the price
We are using a pair of these to mic a trumpet section in our live Jazz concerts and they are working great. I am picking up another set..
Quality microphone
I record acoustics a large mix of 6 string 12 string and resonators and this mic was the best investment I've made you can't lose. Can't wait to keep trying it out with other recordings.
Music background: Playing for 39 years

Music background: Song writer
Nice Little Mic:
The X1 A is a sturdy, nicely made budget condenser mic and a good starter mic with a basic, but essential feature set. It did a credible job at capturing my acoustic guitar and I would thing it would be fine for vocals, piano, drums etc. This is my 5th sE Electronics microphone and they have all been solid performers at reasonable price points. It's definitely worth a look.
Music background: Guitar and bass player for 50+ years.
Impressive!
Just perfect out of the box. Sound is clear and clean with high gain before feedback. My fifth condenser microphone and the best so far.
