Playing with Pitch
How'd you like to be able to hit a note on your MIDI keyboard and get a loop at the wavelength of that note? Sweetwater has an app for that. Polyverse I Wish - named for the Infected Mushroom song (more on this later) - is a pitch freezer plug-in that takes a sound and instantly freezes it in pitch and time. You can then manipulate it in unimaginable ways. Micro-editing on the fly, you can create robotic voices, pitched stutter FX, pitched drum beats - the possibilities are endless, and tantalizing. You can even make music from noise, using I Wish as a polyphonic synthesizer with real-time wavetable oscillators. As the results are highly dependent on the source audio, you'll always get unique, personalized results with Polyverse I Wish.

You can thank Infected Mushroom for this great effectI Wish is pretty cool - where did the idea come from? Working on their track "I Wish," Infected Mushroom spent several days manually chopping up and editing tiny loops to achieve the specific effect they were after. Polyverse felt their pain and built a prototype plug-in for them that does the same thing, instantly. Ultimately, after using the plug-in for two years, the band altruistically concluded it was too good to be selfishly hoarded for their personal use and decided to make it available to music makers worldwide. Bravo!
