You've Never Used a De-esser Like This!
De-essing. We all need it from time to time. Eiosis e2deesser to the rescue. With just two main parameters, e2deesser is delightfully easy to use, while its unique additional fine adjustments and excellent visual feedback supply you with the tools to sculpt your signal precisely. The e2deesser's main section is the quick way to get results. Simply tweak the Sensitivity knob to detect more or less sibilants, then set how much the sibilance gets attenuated with the Amount knob. The e2deesser's auto-detection does the heavy lifting. Fine controls include Auto, which dynamically adjusts the frequency response of the remaining sibilants, and Smooth, which adds subtle, natural-sounding saturation that tames sibilants' peakiness, sizzle, crackling, and overall harshness. A dynamic equalizer, time-frequency display, and flexible monitoring round out the feature set of the Eiosis e2deesser.

To tailor the overall sound of your signal, Eiosis outfitted e2deesser with a dynamic equalizer. This gives you tons of flexibility, letting you notch out nasty resonances in sibilants, add a breath of fresh air to just the voiced signal, or subtly boost high frequencies to balance out midrange-heavy sibilants. The EQ switches from voiced EQ to sibilants EQ according to the detection sensitivity. At Sweetwater, we've found that using e2deesser's equalizer on sibilants gives you concurrent wideband, split-band, and bandpass processing abilities, all in an intuitive, easy-to-use interface.
Time-frequency displayThe Eiosis e2deesser makes it easy to locate sibilant frequencies that need removal. Its time-frequency display lets you instantly see the offending frequencies in momentary sibilants and visualizes in real time the changes applied by the de-essing process - while maintaining a few seconds of rollback in the display. You can identify the key frequencies easily with each filter's center frequency displayed at the top of the analyzer.
Flexible monitoringEiosis e2deesser's flexible monitoring options let you monitor only the voiced signal to confirm that no sibilants remain. This makes for easier sensitivity tweaking. Listen to just the sibilants to ensure you're not catching unwanted parts of the signal. The e2deesser's flexible monitoring, combined with its time-frequency display and smart control set, make it a must-have tool for every recording engineer.
