Envelope styles transform your compression characteristics
Unfiltered Audio didn’t just create one fantastic compressor, but actually four different compressors/expanders. Yes, you read that correctly. Zip offers four compressors/expanders in a single plug-in. It all comes courtesy of the plug-in’s four envelope styles, which provide different attack and release curves to fit different applications. The Classic envelope style delivers thunderous low-end. Meanwhile, the Goopy style glues your mix into a dense wall of sound; Quick attacks transients for a smooth and cohesive feel. And finally, the Extreme envelope’s hair-trigger response is ideal for explosive drums and punchy kicks.
Analysis modes compress or expand as needed
The Zip plug-in doesn’t just deliver superb compression. It can do downward expansion, too. And switching between compression and expansion is insanely simple, thanks to Zip’s analysis modes. Six modes are available: Amplitude, Quietness, Brightness, Darkness, Noisiness, and Tonalness. Each mode provides compression or expansion, depending on the frequency content, signal level, and noise that comes through the input. Have a challenging sound source? Creative effects made easy
With Zip, the sonic possibilities are practically endless. The plug-in features a patchable modulation system, which opens the door to a whole universe of creative possibilities. The system is fully automatable and has eight built-in modulators: sine, sawtooth/triangle, and square LFOs; input follower; macro control; sample and hold noise; step sequencer; and gain reduction. You can simultaneously route up to six modulators to most of the plug-in’s controls. Plus, drag-and-drop controls make operation incredibly easy. With Zip’s modulation system, dealing with external sidechain routing is no longer necessary to make your synths pulse in time with your kick drum. Just drag-and-drop a few modulators, and you’re good to go.
