I've been using the X-Touch Controller for a while now with Studio One 5 Professional. It has performed seamlessly with the DAW but as the number of tracks grow in a project it would be nice to see all faders and controls at once and not have to scroll through pages of 8 faders at a time.
I wasn't quiet sure how easy it was going to be to add an X-Touch extender. In summary it was almost plug and play. Just a few set up pieces in ST1 5. The Extender was so fluid with the X-Touch that I purchased another to give a full 24 track view.
Sweetwater's delivery time from order placement to receiving is as good as the best (Amazon).
To get the channels to flow correctly across all units it is necessary to group them and order them within Studio One's hardware set up window. Then it flows and the extenders are under the control of the X-Touch controller for channel layers etc.

Adding a second extender makes all the difference to me. I work in LUNA almost exclusively with the API Vision Console extension. It took me a bit of trial & error to arrive at this system- an X-Touch ONE and two extender modules slaved directly off the ONE. (The standard, big X-Touch doesn't work well at all with MCU) So I have 16 contiginous faders that locate to DAW selections easily while the ONE is always the Focus Channel (independent of the extenders) I experience a smidge of fader-hang here and there, which I will hopefully troubleshoot. Not a big deal.
I modded the extenders by removing the inside decorative end caps and screws so they fit flush together, then gaff-taped them tightly on the bottom and added a 2" jack all along the back so I can see the bloody things better. I jacked the ONE similarly. See pic.
Now I can sit back in my SWEET spot and mix.
It doesn't suck!

Purchased my Extender 2 years ago, but there was a problem with its mechanical faders. New to midi, I suspected that it was my own coding errors. But, recent behavior suggested otherwise.
Created a support ticket and Ryan quickly picked it up with an email.
After answering only a few assessment questions, Ryan volunteered to replace the Extender, promptly delivered to my doorstep, free of any charges.
Couldn't be more pleased with Ryan's great customer service and having both X-Touch DAW controllers fully functional with 16 channels.
Sweetwater certainly lives up to its name.

I've got the X touch and 2 extenders. They work perfectly with Reaper and are super easy to set up and integrate. With the new discounted price there's no reason not to get one! It really improves my workflow and gives me the feel of using an analogue board.
