Instantly Expand Your Guitar’s Range

Rugged and stage-ready, the BOSS XS-100 Poly Shifter lets your guitar — or bass — do the work of three. With a single press or sweep of the expression pedal, the XS-100 allows you to change tuning, conjure shimmering textures, or add wild, octave-bending layers to your solos. With its intuitive layout, built-in LCD screen, and expansive memory bank, the XS-100 puts creativity at your fingertips, featuring controls to blend your signal and a range that spans up to 4-octave shifts in either direction. Whether you need to drop tune for one song or want to add an octave to your arpeggios, the XS-100 provides a crisp, clean signal thanks to its proprietary Adaptive Focus method technology and 24-bit converters. Many Sweetwater guitarists stomp on the XS-100 when one guitar isn’t enough, and with its impressive shift range and straightforward controls, your sound is sure to soar.

Road-ready Versatility

The XS-100 isn’t just a guitarist’s toy — it’s a gigging workhorse, ready to evolve with whatever you throw at it. The durable design, analog dry-through, and bass-ready processing make it equally suited for high-gain rock, intricate pop textures, or thunderous low-end shifts. Additionally, a built-in expression pedal delivers sweeping bends across a ±4-octave range, while dual switches let you instantly retune or engage capo-style effects on the fly. With 30 recallable memories, MIDI I/O, and a clear graphic LCD, dialing in and recalling your favorite setups is easy.

High fidelity conversion

Behind the scenes, the XS-100 relies on 24-bit converters with Roland and BOSS’s proprietary Adaptive Focus method (AF). This cutting-edge tech vastly improves the signal-to-noise ratio, delivering a cleaner tone and more detail in every note. The result is high-fidelity pitch shifting that sounds natural whether you’re detuning for a heavier riff or soaring into octave-stacked leads. Plus, side parameters let you shape how the pedal responds to your playing, while its natural voicing pairs perfectly with the rest of your effects chain.

BOSS XS-100 Features:

  • Flagship polyphonic pitch-shifter with natural, transparent tone
  • Built-in expression pedal with ±4-octave sweep
  • Dual switches for instant drop/capo effects and expression pedal control

Reviews

cleanest. meanest.
I've returned and retried whammys. Even had a pitchfork plus.. this thing sounds clean as can be. The amount you can adjust on the "Tiny".screen is bonus..read the manual. And it's not the size of a standard whammy.. that article we have all read is bs. Also it takes 160volts over 500..
Great Down Tuning and pitchshifting Whammy Pedal
Great Pedal
Using the pedal to down tune mostly to C# and at times other tunings such as A or B. I was thinking about buying a Baritone Guitar for those tunings, with this pedal, I do not think I will. I am playing around with the Pitchshifting as well.
Its a great pedal, well worth it IMHO. I have the Digitech Drop Pedal, which is a good pedal for tuning down but I feel the Boss sounds better and you can do alot more with it.

Killer pedal, the best Pitch Shifter there is....
I have had so many Whammy pedals from the early V1 to a V4 a couple V5s, and at least two big D tune/Whammy V ones. Nothing could ever really beat them with pitch shifting. I did think the Third man oactaver had the best tone but the XS is better. I really have never liked the Boss octaver either. What gets me after a time is the sound and tone of the pitch shift notes. They get covered up with high gain or at least one hopes. But this new XS tech is better, tone wise and tracking for me anyway. This is the best pitch shifter and finally an improvement over the classic red ones.
Best pitch pedal out there by far

I have looked for years for pedals to bend pitch. I love playing along to music but every song is tuned differently. This fixes that problem in seconds. now a slight ajustment of the pedal and perfect pitch. I have kept multieffects units that cost $ around just for this effect but it always had latency and didn't sound that great. This has no latency and you can't even tell if it is on unles you play really quietly and can hear the strings in a different pitch. all the more reason to turn up your amps a little more. Great gear and sweetwater is great solved a problem i have had for years.

Pure function!
It tunes up or down and tracks seamlessly. I wasn't sure what to expect as I have previously tried other products that hesitated just a touch when playing. That was a few years ago. But, Not the XS-100. This thing is amazing. I have an older Whammy that I use for some Pantera tunes every once in a while. For my uses, this does all of that perfectly and adds another layer of utility that I have always wanted. My Floyd Rose equipped guitars, in particular, are getting more use with this pedal. The fun and/or creative aspects of the shift paired with tuning functionality makes this pedal great. I want to jam on whatever the rest want to play. I also don't want to bring a U-Haul to a jam session to be prepared for anything. This piece of gear has earned a permanent spot on my board for simply removing those obstacles from my guitar playing experience. Get one!
