A Better Way to Mix

Behringer's cutting-edge X Air digital mixers integrate with your iPad or Android tablet — and even your smartphone — for unprecedented mixing power and mobility. Plug in your mic and line level sources and mix from anywhere in the venue or studio via the free remote control app. The X18 is an 18-input desktop unit with 16 gain-programmable Midas-designed microphone preamps, Behringer's renowned X32 effects rack, a 100-band Real Time Analyzer on all channels and bus EQs, an 18 x 18 USB interface, integrated Wi-Fi, a convenient tray for your tablet or small laptop, and more. Just add mics, and you have everything you need to mix a live show and record pristine multitrack studio sessions straight to your DAW. The Behringer X18 gives you a whole new way to mix.

Mix From Anywhere in the House

Built-in Wi-Fi and tablet integration for unprecedented mixing mobility

Behringer's X18 gives you the ultimate in mixing mobility. Imagine always being able to mix from the most advantageous spot in the house! The X18 acknowledges the reality of modern live mixing — that you don't want to be tied down to a fixed front-of-house mix location. Integrated Wi-Fi gives you remote control over the mixer's functions from your tablet or laptop without needing to set up and configure an external router. Now you can focus on your mix, moving around the venue to experience what your audience is hearing at any place in the auditorium. Tweak the mix from the balcony. Adjust the monitors from the performers' perspective. This is live mixing the way it should be — natural and intuitive. The result will be better-sounding shows!

  • Mix from anywhere in the venue
  • Instant wireless for your tablet or laptop
  • Complete remote control over mix functions
  • No need to set up and configure an external router

Let the Performers Mix Their Own Monitors

Compatibility with Behringer's Personal Monitoring System

The X18's wireless capability makes it easy for you to modify a monitor mix from the performers' onstage perspective, but why not let the musicians mix their own IEMs or floor wedges? The X18 features an Ultranet port for easy audio routing over Cat 5e cable to other Ultranet-compatible gear. Compatibility with Behringer's P16-M Personal Monitoring System means you can concentrate on whipping up a killer house mix and leave the monitor mix to the performers (trust us, they'll thank you for it). Now that's smart mixing! With 16 channels of personal monitoring, plus six aux sends to feed stage wedges, delayed mixes, or secondary rooms, you have it covered. If you've got big stadium gigs booked, you'll be glad to know that you can easily integrate the X18 into a larger setup using its Ethernet port to connect to a wired network or a monster router. The X18 includes free iOS and Android apps for remote operation.

  • P16-M Personal Monitoring System compatible
  • 16 channels of personal monitoring
  • Six aux sends to feed stage wedges, etc.
  • Ethernet port connects to wired network

Great-sounding Mixes Start Here

Pristine preamps, ultra-wide dynamic range, and more

With 16 Midas-designed mic preamps and 40-bit floating-point DSP that delivers virtually unlimited dynamic range with no internal overload and vanishingly low latency, the X18 delivers impeccable sound quality — the same as Behringer's acclaimed X32 digital mixer. The X18's preamps are fully gain-programmable and remote-controllable from your iOS and Android device, for nearly unlimited flexibility in a live show situation. Because applications are loaded to the specific device, you can prepare your channel layout offline while sitting in the tour bus before a show.

  • Acclaimed X32 technology for impeccable sound quality
  • Fully gain-programmable, remote-controllable preamps
  • Applications loaded to specific device
  • Facilitates offline pre-production

Comprehensive Processing and Routing

Features that will make you a sound-mixing hero

With so many variables beyond a mix engineer's control, Sweetwater knows just how challenging mixing a live show can be. That's why Behringer designed the X18 with smart features that can make you a sound-mixing hero. The X18's channels are fully loaded, with per-channel low-cut filters, gates, full dynamics (including compression, limiting, expansion, ducking, sidechaining, and more) fully parametric 4-band EQ, and routing to the six aux outputs. When it comes to EQ, the XR18 lets you analyze the frequency content of your tracks courtesy of its 100-band Real Time Analyzer, built into every input channel and then sculpt them with the bus equalizer (currently available in Android, PC, and Mac software — iOS coming soon). With visual feedback built right into the control app, you can see exactly what you need to do, and make fast, surgical adjustments to frequencies that need boost or cut.

  • Smart features make mixing easier
  • Extensive per-channel processing
  • 100-band Real Time Analyzer
  • Visual feedback simplifies EQ

Studio-quality Effects

Virtual FX Rack with four true-stereo multi-effects processors

The X18 has an entire arsenal of effects under the hood. The X18's virtual FX Rack gives you four true-stereo (8 mono) multi-effects processors, including delay, chorus, and dynamics. This engine is beefy enough to simultaneously run high-quality, true-stereo reverbs and 31-band EQ, without the need for additional hardware. Select any combination of high-end simulations of classic studio reverbs such as the Lexicon 480L and PCM70, the EMT250 or Quantec QRS. The X18's onboard processing means your computer won't be tasked with additional heavy lifting during a mixdown session with numerous plug-ins.

  • Four stereo multi-effects processors
  • Simulations of legendary studio reverbs
  • Robust FX engine
  • Lightens the load on your computer

Record Straight to Your Favorite DAW

18 x 18 USB interface makes recording effortless

The X18 sports a fast, bi-directional 18 x 18 USB interface, making the X18 a powerful digital mixing solution for recording directly to the digital audio workstation running on your iPad or computer. You can see how this arrangement can boost productivity in a live scenario, giving you an effortless, immaculate multitrack capture of the show to take back to your studio for post production. Whether you're capturing a live performance or tracking in the studio, you'll find the X18 makes it amazingly easy to record great-sounding tracks.

  • Bi-directional 18 x 18 USB interface
  • Easy direct recording to your DAW
  • Works easily with tablet or computer

Reviews

Perfect

I saw a few bad reviews, mostly from older people or people who didn't do a little extra research to enjoy the features and the great potential of this XAIR 18/ XR18. I didnt get the Rack version because it was not available(out of stock) at the time i needed it, so I ordered the XAir18. Which is basically the same software just some hardware differences. I lost control of it because the integrated wifi is weak, if 2000 people show up to the venue your wifi and iPad control is gone(too much interference)... learned the hard way. I was going to return it but I decided to give it a second chance, and wow. THANK God I decided to keep it. You definitely need a third party wifi router for it to work. Or you can plug it directly to your laptop or iPad with a LAN cable. I was amazed the second time I used it. I bought a 50 dollar(on sale) router at Walmart to use it with the Mixer this time i didnt have any connectivity issues and worked perfectly fine with the ipad , with almost a thousand people. Nice Highs and Lows. Reverb and gates perfect. We use a QSC mixer which is much more expensive but its getting old and we need a plan B thats why i decided to purchase this one. Believe me im not going to say its better than the QSC Mixer but its literally the same quality . Keyboard was happy, drummer was happy, guitar, and vocals were happy and even the bass player was happy which is weird!!!... i have used it for over a year now , one time 3K people in the church and never had the connection issue again. A couple of months ago OCT 2025 I decided to record an album for my wife , she sings and writes her own songs and I play a bunch of different instruments so I decided to do some research on what do I need ... hahaha guess what those multi channel interfaces cost a leg and an arm just for an interface(no mixer capabilities). But this Air X 18 beauty acts exactly as a 18 channel interface and it works with many different types DAW (Digital Audio workstation software) for example , Studio one, logic, Reaper, etc... in my case I have the Reaper software which is also wonderful. You are able to record 16 channels at a time and then go back to edit one by one and the quality of this recordings is amazingly perfect. And its so easy to use .

Behringer X Air X18
This unit has amazing features and puts out flawless, clear sound. I'm using it in my rehearsal/recording studio with QSC K10.2 speakers and nothing in the price range can touch it. It's fast to set up and use right out of the box. It does take some time to get to know the effects, the EQ, the routing options, etc. Being able to move from place to place with an ipad in hand controlling the sound allows you to have the audio levels and tones right regardless of where you are in the room. The real time analyzer feature of the EQ makes it easy to squelch feedback issues. It has more inputs than I typically need and six aux sends which we use to drive in-ear monitor mixes as well as powered speakers (QSC CP8s). It's supposedly made more for studio use than live performance but I think it will excel in a gig situation.
One of the reasons I got this unit was for multi track recording. It will send all of it's inputs via a single USB cable. I've only just started trying that and I need more time on it to comment properly. However, several musicians have been in the room and all agree on the outstanding sound quality (and the look!) of the system.
Thanks Dan Robinson from Sweetwater for your help as always.

I use these mixers for 12 years , sound is amazing.

Never had any problems eccept wifi not stable , but air 18 has very stable access point .Just buy wifi router for $ and use etarnet out , as simple as that . Sound is great , i was thinking about getting allen and heat q 18 but thats the real trash , hardware and software , both.I think most people who complain do not know what they are doing .Just my opinion.

Beast of a mixer for WAY less than MOST!!

FIRST: You SHOULD get an external wx router - the internal wx routers in Behringer digi mixers are notoriously fickle. Even a sub $ wx router will give you ROCK solid workflow! The better the router - the better the range - but I can mix from 50 - 60ft away and that's plenty for the rooms I work in. The ONLY caveat is the aux outputs are on 1/4" bal connectors and somewhat close together - so I use 8" pigtails (1/4" to XLR) for my monitor sends. Plenty of output gain before distortion, even from average powered speakers (JBL Eon for example).

SECOND: Android users MUST use Mixing Station app for Behringer and some Midas mixers (phones/ tablets). FANTASTIC app (spring the $ for the full version), and better than the native ever was anyway.

THIRD: You CAN record multitrack - BUT YOU NEED THE CORRECT DRIVERS!! Free downloads from the Music Tribe/ Behringer website.

Cheers!!

Nice Little Mixer
This is a great mixer. I had to do gymnastics to record and play from the mixer, but I got it done. This IS a multitrack recording mixer. I had NO problems recording five different channels with this mixer. If you have issues, then you might want to seek help. You might be doing something wrong. You can be confident that this is a multitrack record for the rest.
